Hudson River HealthCare (“HRHCare”) is a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center serving communities in Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia and Westchester County HRHCare is currently seeking a full-time Network Engineer to join our team.


A Network Engineer is responsible for analyzing, installing, configuring, maintaining and repairing of network infrastructure and application components.  The Network Engineer will perform a wide variety of evaluation, maintenance, installation and training tasks to ensure the computer network performance meets company and user satisfaction.  This position also provides direction, information and recommendations regarding network configurations and installations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Network Engineer:

  •  Maintain a thorough understanding of the corporate infrastructure and its protocols (DNS, IP routing, VPN, etc.)
  •  Configure, maintain and setup Cisco routers, switches, wireless infrastructure and security appliances
  •  service complex switching environments
  •  Integrate and support wireless networking for open or secured access
  •  Maintain a thorough understanding and assists in documentation of LAN and WAN
  •  Accurately log and track change management events and configuration revisions
  •  Assist in design of multi-server environment, including IP address schemes, DNS, WINS, Ether-Channel (Bonding), etc.
  •  Evaluate, configure, and install server network software for upgrading and maintaining network and telecommunication systems
  •  Troubleshoot malfunctions of network hardware and software, telephones and security systems
  •  Manage assigned projects independently and largely unsupervised
  •  Assists in administration and support of our datacenter(s) and remote locations, including tier 3 end-user support
  •  Provides on-call and off-site support on an as-needed basis
  •  Other duties assigned by management


Minimum Education Requirement: High school diploma/ GED with Vocational/ Technical School diploma Information Technology or related fields (i.e. Computer Science)

Preferred Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related fields (i.e. Computer Science)

Minimum Work Related Experience: 2 - 4 years

Preferred Work Related Experience: 5 - 8 years

Minimum Licensure: Valid New York State Driver's License


Qualified candidate must possess:

  •  Knowledge of industry standard monitoring software
  •  Knowledge of Cisco (or comparable) networking equipment
  •  Competence in operating and troubleshooting computers and computer peripherals for Tier 3 Support
  •  Ability to analyze, design, implement, test and maintain new projects in the information systems department
