The Prevention With Positives Specialist (PWP) delivers the ARTAS and CLEAR Evidence Based Interventions to newly or previously diagnosed but out-of-care adults with HIV and/or persons at high risk of becoming HIV positive. The PWP will be responsible for recruiting program participants internally among other agency programs and externally within the community. This position requires the PWP to provide services and outreach activities outside of the office, which includes but is not limited to clinics, hospitals, community based agencies, and client homes. The PWP will work closely with all of the CHASI staff while under the supervision of the AVP, Health Care Coordination.



  •  Facilitate the CLEAR and ARTAS interventions with members of the target populations;
  •  Promote the CLEAR and ARTAS interventions within the agency and in the community to recruit HIV positive and individuals at-risk of becoming HIV positive for the program;
  •  Increase access to care and improved health outcomes for those served by the program;
  •  Educate clients on post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) medicines and behavioral risk reduction methods;
  •  Maintain thorough, accurate, and confidential client records;
  •  Establish and maintain relationships with potential referral sources to maximize recruitment efforts;
  •  Conduct outreach activity in the community which includes preparation and distribution of educational, promotional, and recruitment materials;
  •  Act as a resource to refer clients to other health and social supportive services as needed.
  •  Coordinate and network with other HIV services providers;
  •  Maintain professional development in new prevention strategies, methodologies and resources available to HIV or Hepatitis infected people;
  •  Prepare monthly reports to facilitate contract and agency requirements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelors or advanced degree is required. Ability to relate with and engage the target population is essential. Experience using Evidenced Based Interventions and/or curricula in a community setting. Computer literate in Word, Excel, Outlook and ability to navigate the Internet.



  •  In-depth knowledge, understanding and ability to communicate HIV disease progression, treatments, and adherence strategies.
  •  Knowledge of HIV/AIDS including infected and affected populations, high-risk groups, and comfortable working with these populations and groups;
  •  In-depth knowledge and understanding of care management principles, documentation, referral processes, and follow up
  •  Deadline driven and detail-oriented, ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  •  Knowledge of HIV/AIDS community resources, including existing social and behavioral health resources and referral agencies;
  •  Culturally responsive to individuals living with HIV/AIDS and those at-risk for becoming infected with HIV;
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, including ability to listen and follow instructions; able to organize thoughts logically and explain themselves clearly; ability to manage communications tactfully and professionally with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience and proven ability to think strategically, plan effectively, and manage productively to achieve multiple high-priority goals.


Contracted position to possibly end by 6/30/20

Salary Range: $45,000 - $50,000
